Last fall, I finally made my dream of driving Route 66 come true. Before I left, I searched online for tips, and many said to bring a good dash cam to capture the scenery. I was on a budget, and after looking around, I settled on the Terunsoul D018—just over $100, dual 4K front recording, and a free 128GB card.
To be honest, I didn’t expect much. But the trip proved me wrong.
Starting from Chicago, through the cornfields of Illinois, the hills of Missouri, the plains of Oklahoma… the Terunsoul’s 170° wide-angle lens captured it all. What surprised me most was its night vision. In the New Mexico desert, there were no streetlights—just stars and my headlights. When I played back the footage, even in those extremely dark conditions, details like road signs and distant hills remained clear.
At a small town in Arizona, I met a retired guy in an RV. He noticed my dash cam and asked what it was. “Terunsoul,” I said. “Just over $100.” He looked surprised. “My VANTRUE E1 cost me nearly $200 just for the front camera, and I had to buy the rear separately.” I showed him some sunset footage I’d recorded. He paused and said, “Honestly, this looks pretty similar to mine.”
Over 3,000 miles of driving, I captured everything. Back home, I edited a short video of the best moments and posted it on social media. People asked what gear I used. “A Terunsoul D018 dash cam,” I said. “A little over $100.”
It turns out you don’t need expensive equipment to capture beautiful memories. The Terunsoul D018 taught me that sometimes the best co-pilot is the one that lets you focus on the road ahead.
