TERUNSOUL OBD Hardwire Kit (14.9ft)-Applicable to D021

TERUNSOUL OBD Step-Down Cable (14.9ft)
D021 Dash Cam Parking Monitoring Cable | Plug and Play OBD | Intelligent Low-Voltage Protection

✅ Designed specifically for the TERUNSOUL D021, enabling 24-hour parking monitoring without removing the fuse box.

Product Introduction
The TERUNSOUL OBD Step-Down Cable (14.9ft) is a dedicated parking monitoring power accessory for the D021 dash cam. It draws power from the vehicle's OBD diagnostic interface, offering plug-and-play functionality without the need for wire cutting or fuse searching. It easily provides continuous power to the D021 after the engine is turned off, enabling collision detection and time-lapse recording functions.

The extra-long 14.9ft cable is sufficient to cover the wiring distance from the OBD interface under the steering wheel to the windshield dash cam location, allowing for easy wiring even in large SUVs, pickup trucks, or MPVs. The built-in intelligent low-voltage protection chip automatically cuts off power when the battery voltage is too low, ensuring the vehicle can start normally at any time.

Why does the D021 need this cable?

The D021 itself supports parking monitoring, but it must be used with an ACC three-core step-down cable or an OBD step-down cable to achieve continuous power supply after the engine is turned off. Using a regular car charger cable, the dashcam loses power when the vehicle is turned off, and scratches or collisions that occur while the vehicle is parked will not be recorded.

The advantages of choosing the OBD version are:

No need to remove the fuse box – Simply insert into the OBD interface for non-destructive installation.

Plug and play – No wiring or tools required, completed in minutes.

Doesn't occupy the cigarette lighter socket – Keeps the vehicle's interface tidy.

Extra-long 14.9ft cable – No problem with wiring in large vehicles.

Key features:
Specifically adapted for D021 – Output specifications match the power requirements of D021, stable and reliable.

OBD II direct-plug power – Simply plug into the vehicle's OBD interface to work, no wire cutting required.

14.9-foot extra-long cable – Approximately 6 meters, covering various vehicle types including sedans, SUVs, pickups, and MPVs.

Intelligent low-voltage protection – Real-time monitoring of battery voltage; automatically cuts off power when below a safe threshold to prevent battery drain.

Stable output 5V/2.5A – Meets the power supply requirements of D021 parking monitoring.

Three-wire output design – Provides ACC signal, constant power, and ground, compatible with D021. Parking monitoring trigger logic

Safe materials – Pure copper core + flame-retardant outer sheath, built-in fuse, overcurrent and overheat protection

Plug and play – No setup required, D021 automatically identifies power supply status after connection.

Installation Instructions

Confirm that D021 is installed correctly and that the dashcam supports parking monitoring.

Locate the OBD II interface below the steering wheel (usually located above the accelerator pedal or to the lower left of the steering wheel).

Insert the OBD plug into the interface, ensuring the clip is securely in place.

Track the cable along the door frame seal, A-pillar, or headliner edge to the D021 location.

Plug the output end into the D021 power interface.

Start the vehicle and confirm that D021 powers on normally; after turning off the engine, D021 should automatically enter parking monitoring mode (this needs to be enabled in the dashcam settings).

💡 The 14.9ft cable is quite long; excess cable can be secured and concealed using the included cable clips. If the vehicle's OBD interface is already occupied by other devices, an OBD 1-to-2 adapter can be purchased separately.

Compatibility

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can this cable only be used with the D021?

A: This product is designed for the D021's power supply interface and parking monitoring logic. For other TERUNSOUL models, please select the corresponding dedicated version to ensure compatibility.

Q: Will parking monitoring drain the battery?

A: No. It has a built-in intelligent low-voltage protection chip that automatically cuts off power when the voltage drops below the safe threshold, reserving sufficient power for vehicle starting.

Q: Is 14.9 feet too long?

A: The extra-long design is for larger vehicles and complex wiring routes. Excess cable can be secured inside the trim panel with cable clips without affecting use.

Q: Do all cars have an OBD interface?

A: Most gasoline and diesel vehicles manufactured after 1996 are equipped with an OBD II interface. The location may differ for some new energy vehicles; please confirm before purchasing.

Q: Are professional tools required for installation?

A: No. The OBD version is plug-and-play and can be installed by hand. A pry bar (sold separately if needed) can be used for wiring assistance; no fuse box removal is required.

Q: Will the D021 continue recording after the engine is off?

A: It depends on the D021's parking monitoring settings. After connecting this step-down cable, the D021 can enable collision detection or time-lapse recording modes, operating according to the set logic, rather than recording at full frame rate continuously.

Q: Do I need to unplug it for long-term parking?

A: For long-term parking (more than a week), it is recommended to unplug the OBD connector to avoid the accumulation of small power consumption.
